We are in the heart of the NFL offseason and while several players are lobbying and angling for lucrative new contracts, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence remains focused on football.
Lawrence is entering the fourth year of his rookie deal with the organization holding a fifth year option for the 24-year-old. The Georgia native knows that he will likely be with the team for at least two more seasons and is concentrating strictly on winning games in 2024.
“It’s not really my focus,” said Lawrence per NFL.com when speaking about an extension. “I’d love to obviously be a Jag for as long as possible. We love it here and I love where we’re headed as an organization and feel like I’m just getting better. It’s not really my focus right now, at the end of the day, my job isn’t going to change whether I get extended or not before this season.”

The Jaguars will be desperate to hold on to Lawrence who has is considered one of the league’s most promising young quarterbacks. Lawrence was a top recruit coming out of Cartersville High School and went on to win a national Championship at Clemson University. The Jaguars selected him with the first overall pick in the 2021 draft and he was promptly named to the Pro Bowl the following year.
Over three seasons in Jacksonville, Lawrence has an overall 20-30 record and has recorded 11770 passing yards and 69 total touchdowns.
Lawrence’s performances have steadily improved and with some new additions to the roster, it will be interesting to to see what the talented quarterback can do in 2024. He believes there is plenty of room for improvement in the coming years.
“My best ball is definitely ahead of me,” added Lawrence.
