The San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver/punt returner, Trent Taylor have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract. According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, Taylor is expected to return to his position as a punt/kick returner and wide receiver.
Taylor was drafted in the 2017 NFL Draft in the fifth round as the 177th pick. He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers and played with them from 2017 to 2020. He then joined the Cincinnati Bengals from 2021 to 2022. Last year, he was with the Chicago Bears and now once again, he has joined the 49ers.

The punt return has become an increasingly coverage-dominated play. A couple of years ago, we saw most of an NFL season go by without a single TD. Raising the floor is more important than ever — teams can’t afford muffed punts.

Throughout his career, he has participated in 78 games and posted 87 receptions for 834 yards and three touchdowns. He has played in seven postseason games and with the Bears, he played in seventeen games.
According to the 49ers, the wide receiver/kick returner went to Louisiana Tech University and played in 53 games in four seasons. During the four seasons, he registered 327 receptions for 4,179 yards including 32 touchdowns. His impressive collegiate career ended with him being the top player in three categories.
