Legendary coach Bill Belichick is one of the most decorated coaches in NFL history and when he speaks, fans should listen. The former New England Patriots coach is currently without a head coaching position but it seems like only a matter of time before he is back on the sidelines, For now, Belichick is offering is valuable insight to football fans that are willing to listen.
In a recent episode of the Pat McAfee Show, the 72-year-old was asked about his views on the new kickoff rules and how it will effect the game.
“There will be more of an emphasis on size of players in the return game than speed,” said Belichick. “You just need guys who can play at the point of attack, shed blocks, and defend their space because of the new alignment. So I think it will increase the size of the players that are on the field.”
"I don't like that they took the surprise onside kick out although I wish that rule was around when we played against you 😂😂
We always had to put another two guys over there even though you never did it against us"

The new rule will see up to 19 players lineup within 5 yards of each other. The rule permits 10 players from the defending team to lineup on the opposing 40-yard line facing the offensive team.
The one aspect Belichick says he will miss is the on-side kick that allowed trailing teams to turn the tide of the game.
Fans need not worry as the game’s greatest returners like Devin Hestor and Dante Hall will still be in high demand and the new rules should create more excitement for viewers.
