On Thursday’s episode of NBA Today, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards told ESPN’s Malika Andrews that he believes he can be the league’s best player in coming years.
Edwards confidently believes he could improve soon, and said he has only reached 40 percent of his potential at the moment.

In the Thursday episode, ESPN analyst Austin Rivers said he believed Edwards would be the league’s top player in two to three years. Following, that, Andrews then asked Edwards if he agreed with the notion and he replied,
“Yeah, I 100 percent agree with him for sure. In about two-to-three years, yeah. I’m just in year four, man. I think people forget that I’m 22, I’m not even touching my prime yet.”
In his fourth NBA season., Edwards is averaging 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game on the second-best team in Timberwolves’ history by winning percentage. He also led Minnesota to a 56-26 record, good enough for third in the Western Conference.
Since entering the NBA in 2021 he has walked into the NBA as a dynamic athlete, he led Team USA in scoring with 18.9 ppg during the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
Moreover, the Timberwolves are a big deal and sit well right now with a 56-26 record, they are currently the 3rd seed in the Western Conference having led the table for most of the season.
The 22-year-old waits for the NBA Playoffs and the Timberwolves are set to face the No. 6 seed Phoenix Suns on Saturday in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
