ESPN Analyst Kendrick Perkins Fires Back at Bill Simmons Over “NBA Countdown” Panel Critique

The NBA Playoffs match between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns was much looked forward to, and the NBA Countdown cast, which consisted of Stephen A. Smith, Michael Wilbon, Adrian Wojnarowski, Malika Andrews, and Kendrick Perkins, drew criticism from former ESPN analyst, cultural critic, and founder of The Ringer, Bill Simmons.

In the shot, both Wilbon and Perkins were sitting with not enough distance, which prompted the Boston fan to make a remark regarding the number of analysts sitting on the panel. Simmons in jest mentioned that a five-person panel might not be sufficient and inquired whether there was enough space for one more to fit in.

However, the playoffs have made ESPN studio shows quite popular with their brimming panels; subsequently, it also lets the viewers be stocked with a wide range of perspectives, consisting of experts, journalists, and former athletes.

This was one of the points highlighted by Simmons during his remark and Perkins, the former NBA champion turned analyst, took the comment into consideration and replied in one of his posts.

Simmons shared, “Feels like they could squeeze a 6th person in here…

To which Perkins replied, “I remember when you was in one those seats talking crazy about me. Man have times changed!!! Happy 420 and Carry on…

Perkins gave his reply to Simmons, suggesting that his criticism was irrational and that it was another instance of his continuous animosity towards the former NBA player.

However, Simmons had not made such remarks the first time considering the panel analysts’ numbers; he had earlier mentioned them as well.
