The Indianapolis Colts have struggled to reach the franchise’s lofty expectation since the abrupt departure of Andrew Luck in 2014. The team has failed to win their division in nearly a decade and has reached the playoffs just twice since 2015.
There were high hopes for the Colts last season, especially with the addition of star rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson. The 21 year-old had a strong start to the year but the team’s season was derailed after his shoulder injury.
Richardson returns fit in 2024 and along with him there are several other top tier players on the roster. One of those stars is high-rated defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo.
In a recent Exclusive interview with Overtime Heroics, Odeyingbo spoke about the Colts chances next year and what it will take to make a deep playoff push.
Reggie Roberts: “Nobody in the state of Indiana liked the way the 2023 season ended. In order to obtain a different outcome this upcoming season, everyone must elevate an aspect of their game this season. What area are you focused on?”
Dayo Odeyingbo: “I would have to say consistency and being the same player every play.”
Last season, Odeyingbo finished with eight sacks, 38 tackles and 17 hits to help guide the Colts to a 9-8 record. Now entering his fourth season win the club, it will be interesteing to see what he can do to help this team get over the hump in 2024.
