The Minnesota Timberwolves recently defeated the Phoenix Suns in the first-round game of the playoff series with a concluding score of 120-95. With the win, NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins has recently applauded the talents of Timberwolves two-time All-Star guard Anthony Edwards.

Edwards scored team-high points against the Suns and finished with 33 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Karl-Anthony Towns posted 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Rudy Gobert also added 14 points to the scoreboard, along with 16 rebounds and two assists.

From the Suns side, it was two-time NBA champion and two-time NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant who led the squad with 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 assist. Devin Booker ended his game with 18 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 assists. Bradley Beal added 15 points, 2 rebounds, and 6 assists.

During one of the episodes of ESPN’s “NBA Countdown”, Kendrick Perkins, former NBA champion, shed light on the leadership skills Edwards portrayed against the Suns and, in praise of Ant-Man he shared, “I never played with a young great player like that. No disrespect to ‘KD’. No disrespect to Russ or James Harden. That type of leader.

The talented guard also shared that Kevin Durant is his “favorite player” and further mentioned, “I think everybody here knows that’s my favorite player of all time, so that was probably one of the best feelings ever in my whole life, for sure.”

In the last three quarters, the Timberwolves spearheaded the game with a lead and Edwards gave a stellar performance that was reinforced by other players as well.
