With Sean Payton preparing for his second season with the Denver Broncos, the team is in full rebuild mode. Several high profile players have been shipped out by the Broncos over the last 12 months including defensive back Justin Simmons, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and, most notably, quarterback Russell Wilson.
Payton is looking to build a team that matches his philosophy and cornerback Levi Wallace could be part of the future plans. The 28-year-old previously played for the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers and is a free agent at the moment. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Wallace is visiting Denver and could sign with the team by the end of the day. The deal would be for a one-year contract for the 2024 season.
The #Broncos are hosting FA CB Levi Wallace on a visit today, and sources say he’s expected to sign a 1-year deal with Denver if all goes well. Wallace was a standout player at the University of Alabama and although he was not drafted, he did earn a three-year contract with the Bills in 2018.
Over six seasons in the NFL, Wallace has gone on to feature in 83 games. He has recorded a total of 12 interceptions and 305 totals. Last season, he recorded two interceptions over 16 games with the Steelers.
Ian Rapoport goes on to state that several NFL teams are interested in the cornerback but he is keen to work alongside highly rated veteran defensive coordinator Vance Joseph.
