GloRilla dons ‘”GloLillard” jersey after Damian Lillard’s ex-wife takes a dig at the budding rapper with DUI arrest mugshot

Up-and-coming rapper GloRilla donned a custom jersey with the name “GloLillard” – a play on Damian Lillard’s name, the star point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks. The jersey also had the number 0, which is Damian Lillard’s jersey number with the NBA team.

GloRilla’s move comes after Damian Lillard’s ex-wife seemingly took a shot at GloRilla by posting a picture of GloRilla’s mugshot from a past DUI arrest. GloRilla’s motive could be a publicity stunt or a way to subtly diss Lillard’s ex-wife for her comments.

Apparently, the GloRilla-Damian Lillard controversy dates back to February 2024.

GloRilla first expressed her interest in NBA star Damian Lillard during the 2024 NBA All-Star break. This happened while Lillard was going through a public divorce from his college sweetheart wife Kay’La.

Next, given the opportunity of the newbie rapper’s recent DUI arrest, Lillard’s estranged wife, Kay’La, took a shot at GloRilla by posting her mugshot (from a DUI arrest) on social media and jokingly calling her a “sister wife.”

Rapper GloRilla was arrested on Tuesday, April 16, in Suwanee, Georgia for driving under the influence (DUI) along with other charges. Police pulled her over after she allegedly made a U-turn at a red light around 4 am.

Officers reported smelling alcohol on her breath and marijuana in the car. She also possessed an open container of alcohol in the vehicle and failed to obey a traffic control device. According to reports, GloRilla struggled with some field sobriety tests and refused to take a breathalyzer test.

Damian Lillard’s Divorce

Damian Lillard married his college sweetheart, Kay’La Hanson in September 2021 in a star-studded ceremony in California. They met at Weber State University and dated for 10 years before getting married.

The couple share three children together: a 5-year-old son, Damian Jr., and 2-year-old twins, Kalii and Kali.

In October 2023, just days after Lillard’s trade to the Milwaukee Bucks, he filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.” Documents revealed Lillard had moved out of their family home by December 2022.
