Khari Thompson of Boston.com revealed wide receiver Bourne believed the documentary was “awful” because of how bad it made Belichick look.
He shared,
“I think it’s awful, too, honestly. It’s just a lot. It made Bill look bad, and I love Bill. I love everything he stood for. It was just kind of crazy how it made him look, and it seemed like a lot of misunderstanding and confusion that was going on. I enjoyed seeing the history and learning about the history. It’s always dope to learn about history. But, they tried to swing it one way or the other, and it didn’t have to be like that.”
Belichick’s 20-year run includes winning six Super Bowls, one of the greatest runs in professional sports history, stretching from 2000-2020.
Bourne, who joined the Patriots as a free agent in 2021, told Boston.com that he didn’t like the series, particularly the portrayal of Belichick.
He also added,
“I was kind of on the fence about it because I love the history part, but I hate how they made Bill Belichick look. I hate how they tried to make it look divided. I think every team goes through that, but when you’re a dynasty, and you win, a lot of people still try to discredit it.”
In Patriot’s latest headlines off the field this off-season, were between Belichick and Robert Kraft situation that reportedly led to Belichick not securing the head coaching job with the Atlanta Falcons, as well as the infamous documentary.
