ESPN NBA analyst and former league champion, Richard Jefferson’s recent remarks regarding his observation of Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers attracted a lot of attention. He was calling the Game 1 of the First Round along with Ryan Ruocco.
Dallas faced defeat against the Clippers despite both icons Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving achieving more than sixty points together. They lost with a final score of 109-97.
However, Jefferson shared in his remarks that the losing team has the advantage and through his opinions, he meant that the one who loses tries to up their game in the next match, which subsequently increases their drive to win, whereas the victors do not require much change in their strategy as they have already gained the upper hand.
Jefferson shared, as per Legion Hoops, “The thing about these 7-game series is the team that loses has the advantage.”
He’s making a good point he just phrased it awkwardly.
He’s not saying the losing team has an advantage IN THE SERIES. He’s saying the team that lost the previous game gets an advantage in the next one because they tend to adjust more aggressively. Winners tend to be complacent.… https://t.co/psAPZvfjHJ

Jefferson’s tweet was taken out of place and his ESPN colleague, Kendrick Perkins, came for his defense and stated in one of his tweets, “Yall might want to listen when a brother like @Rjeff24 has played in 140 playoff games, 4 NBA Finals appearances and 1 NBA Championship. I think he just might know a thing or two when it comes to the postseason. Carry the hell on…”
The former NBA champion turned analyst, Perkins, through his remarks, reiterated the feats of Jefferson and highlighted his experience. Jefferson’s tweet was misconstrued and he was supported by Perkins himself.
