We are yet to see what Indianapolis Colts running back Evan Hull has to offer but the organization has high hopes for the talented star.
Hull was picked up in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft (176th overall) from Northwestern University and is expected to develop into one of the team’s premier running backs. At 23 years old, the young Minnesota native still has plenty of time to improve his game, but is hoping to make an instant impact next year after an injury riddled 2023 season.
Last year, Hull managed just one reception and one carry before suffering a meniscus tear in his knee.
In a recent exclusive interview with Overtime Heroics senior editor Reggie Roberts, Hull opened up his recovery, his musical preferences and which athletes inspire him growing up.
OH: “Professional athlete current or past that you would pay money to go watch?”
EH: “I would say either Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali. One of those two. Tyson had the ferocity that you had to see to believe. I don’t know if the cameras do it justice on how violent he was as a boxer. Same goes for Ali too, but it’s a different sense with his speed and finesse. To be able to witness that firsthand would be amazing.”

It is no surpise that Hull mentioned two boxing legends considering he plays the game with the same aggression and gusto. Hull is known for his blocking and his ability to grind out yards.
In his final two seasons with Northwestern, he rushed for 1921 yards, accumulated 810 receiving yards and recorded 16 touchdowns.
Colts fans will be praying that Hull can keep himself health for the upcoming season. With several key weapons on the offense, including Michael Pittman Jr., Kyle Downs and Jonathan Taylor, don’t be surprised if this Colts team makes a deep playoff run in 2024.
