“Just got to get it right on Thursday” Anthony Davis calls out Lakers’ performance against Nuggets, expects team to ‘get things right’ for the next game

The second game of Playoffs Round 1 was lost by the Los Angeles Lakers as the Denver Nuggets once again emerged victorious. The former club was defeated with a concluding score of 101-99. 

In the last two quarters, the Lakers were dominated and eventually Nuggets were able to win the highly-anticipated game. From the side of the victors, it was the Serbian sensation and six-time All-Star, Nikola Jokic who posted team-high points and ended his game with 27 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists. 

Michael Porter Jr. registered 22 points, 9 rebounds, and one assist, Jamal Murray added 20 points to the scoreboard, including three rebounds and 5 assists. Aaron Gordon ended his game with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. 

From the Lakers side, twenty-time All-Star LeBron James posted 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 12 assists. D’Angelo Russell added 23 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists. It was nine-time All-Star Anthony Davis who scored team-high 32 points, including 11 rebounds, and two assists. 

Davis shared focusing on the current game and the upcoming Game 3 and according to Spectrum SportsNet mentioned, “We have stretches where we don’t know what we’re doing on both ends of the floor… Just got to get it right on Thursday.”

The Lakers squad had shot 43.3% from the three-point range and 48.7% from the field. The Lakers had lost earlier playoff game as well, and Davis during the regular season had an average of 24.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists with 1.2 steals and 2.3 blocks as per SI.
