New England Patriots President Jonathan Kraft is heavily involved in the decision-making process as the Patriots consider trade offers for the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Kraft has been part of the team’s leadership since 2005 and is the oldest son of team owner Robert Kraft. Director of scouting Eliot Wolf is leading the team’s draft decisions, but Kraft’s input is significant.
The Patriots are open to trading their first-round pick and have received interest from teams like the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants.
The New England Patriots are listening and taking calls from teams looking to move into 3.
While Eliot Wolf is running point, I’m told Patriots’ President Jonathan Kraft is heavily involved in the decision making.

The decision to trade or draft will likely depend on what the Washington Commanders do with the No. 2 pick. The Patriots are looking to find a new franchise quarterback, and Kraft is stepping in to ensure that happens.
When Bill Belichick left the Patriots, Eliot Wolf took over as the team’s main decision-maker. However, Jonathan Kraft is also heavily involved in the decision-making process, according to reports.
Kraft’s involvement suggests that the team’s ownership has a say in the matter, which is normal but should not interfere with the team’s operations.
The Patriots are currently considering trade offers for the No. 3 pick and are open to moving down. Wolf will ultimately make the final decision, but Kraft may have input in selecting a quarterback if it comes down to a choice between a quarterback and a wide receiver.
Jonathan Kraft’s involvement is crucial as he is expected to take over the Patriots at some point in the future. The team lacks a franchise quarterback, and Kraft wants to ensure that the team finds the right player.
The risk of trading out of the No. 3 spot is bypassing the opportunity to select a potential franchise quarterback like Drake Maye. Kraft’s involvement ensures that the team makes a sound decision.
The team is looking for a top, young quarterback and may trade up or down depending on the offers received.
Wolf will have the final say in the decision, but Kraft’s input is significant. The Patriots hope to come away from the draft with a franchise quarterback and are considering all options.
The draft begins on Thursday, April 25th.
Fans reacted as follows:
Patriots taking a QB here makes no sense. They have so many holes putting a rookie in will just destroy his confidence. Trade back for a a haul of picks and start building the foundation. They’ll be picking in the top 3 next year again regardless

Because neither JJ McCarthy or Jayden Daniels deserve to go 3. A smart team would move up & grab Alt or MHJ there. One already with a QB in place.

What a crap show this has become…pathetic really. I gave up my tix…no confidence in this ownership group any more. They can win me back…call me a fair weather fan pink hat etc that is fine…but this piece of news here is what my gut told me was going on, and I didn't want…

Need at least a few more picks, if you believe in Maye, or you believe the Vikings do. Vikings won’t be so bad that the picks will be THAT valuable.

Meanwhile the team has let Robert Kraft take a brief reprieve to his favorite massage parlor in Florida. He'll watch the draft from there and hope for everything to come to a happy ending.

This is the right move…. Nobody seems to love these QBs, move down, fill the roster’s hole’s, take a swing on a day 2 QB and maybe hit who knows, but chances are the Pats are back up high in the next year or two. Plenty of options and others who will likely emerge

If Monti was going to make a trade he wouldn't wait til the draft. I think now is the highest leverage moment. Makes me think he just wants to stick and pick MHJ, which is fine…

The Kraft family is doing a tremendous job showing the rest of the NFL how to incorrectly move on from a well liked head coach. Doing everything they possibly can to turn the fan base against them. Better crush this draft or it’s going to get real loud.

Cause Jonathan is such a football guru…great..that’s the last thing we need..He should stick to picking out place settings for Revolution home games
