WR Tyreek Hill recently clashed with Mike McDaniel, the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, where Hill was rightfully ‘called out’ during the loss against the Chiefs.

A recent bout saw Hill being manhandled by Chiefs cornerback, L’Jarius Sneed.
“He called me out,” Hill admitted during his appearance on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast. “He like, ‘Reek, bro, you’re supposed to be the f—ing best player in the f—ing league and you got this guy putting hands all over you like that. Man, we pay you all this money for what?’ And for me, I love shit like that, because I’m gonna take that shit to heart and I’m gonna get better from it.”
While many might perceive such a public critique as controversial, Hill found value in McDaniel holding him accountable.
He emphasized that this approach fosters team betterment rather than complacency. Hill believes that if Coach McDaniel had remained silent, it might have sent the wrong message to his teammates.
“If he’s not saying nothing, the other guys in the locker room, they’re gonna look at it as, ‘Oh, if Reek can do it, I can do it,’ and that’s not getting the team better,” Hill said. “I need everyone to get better.”
Despite the incident, Hill displayed commendable performance in that game, securing five catches on eight targets, amassing 62 yards, and scoring the sole Dolphins’ touchdown.

Subsequent to this event, the Dolphins facilitated a four-year, $120-million contract extension for Hill.
Hill has been a scoring sensation since joining the Dolphins, exceeding 1,700 yards in each season with the team.
The 30-year-old wideout contributed significantly throughout the 2023 season, leading the league with 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns.
