“We have until May 2nd to make that decision” Steelers GM Omar Khan’s stance on options for QB Justin Fields, RB Najee Harris

The Pittsburgh Steelers general manager, Omar Khan and the head coach Mike Tomlin have recently shed light regarding the upcoming NFL Draft including their thoughts on fifth-year options for both quarterback Justin Fields and Pro Bowl running back Najee Harris. 

The two-time CFP National Champion running back, Harris was selected by the Steelers squad in the 2021 NFL Draft in the first round as the 24th pick. During the conference, Khan was inquired regarding their choices for both options however he sidelined giving an absolute decision. 

He stated as per Corey Crisan of DK Pittsburgh Sports, “Yeah, we have ‘till May. I’ve said this before we have until May 2nd to make that decision. So, we’ll focus on the draft this week, and I’m sure we’ll have some serious conversations about that next month.”

The running back, Harris has rushed for 3,269 yards till now with registering 22 rushing touchdowns, 144 receptions, and 866 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns. In the last campaign he posted 1,035 yards, including eight touchdowns and 107 yards with 29 catches.
