Former South Carolina wide receiver, Xavier Legette, claims that the Carolina Panthers have eyed him for their second round of draft picks.
The key person behind this interest appears to be none other than Panthers’ head coach Dave Canales.
On being asked about Legette’s comments, Dave Canales did not hold back his plans. He confirmed that he did indeed express similar thoughts to Legette.
Canales elaborated that he held similar conversations with about 50 other potential draft players.
“Oh yeah, I said that to him, and 50 other guys,” Canales said,

Over the course of the pre-draft process, Legette confessed to feeling a growing relationship with the Panthers.
However, he is also cognizant of the fact that this does not guarantee his selection. The dynamics of the draft selection process are known to be unpredictable.
Despite relationships formed in the pre-draft process, ultimately decisions are influenced by a team’s needs and the players’ suitability.
This might lead to Legette being passed over by the Panthers, despite the budding relationships and assurances.
