It is a significant honor to win the Heisman and Reggie Bush finally received his 14 years after being stripped of the prestigious trophy.
Bush won the trophy turning out for the USC Trojans in 2005 but was stripped of the title after it was revealed that he benefited from irregular financial assistance.
With College players now able to earn money through image rights the NCAA took retrospective action and Bush can finally out the Heisman Trophy back on his mantelpiece.
“Personally, I’m thrilled to reunite with my fellow Heisman winners and be a part of the storied legacy of the Heisman Trophy, and I’m honored to return to the Heisman family,” Bush said in a statement to ESPN.
“I also look forward to working together with the Heisman Trust to advance the values and mission of the organization.”
Fellow Heisman Trophy winners pressured the powers to be, with Johnny Manziel even threatening to boycott the ceremony until Bush got his trophy back.
