It has been a dreadful 12 months for a Carolina Panther franchise that finished with the worst record in the NFL in 2023. The team is looking to rebound and will build around 2023 overall first pick Bryce Young in upcoming season.
The Panthers have responded to a difficult year with wholesale changes from the coaching staff to the players. The addition of Diontae Johnson was greated with applause from a Panthers fanbase that has suffered since the departure of running back Christian McCaffrey in 2022. Johnson, the former Pittsburgh Steelers receiver, believes he could be the man get get this franchise back on track.
“Just a guy that can get open, just give him a sense of comfort when he’s back there knowing he has a guy that can get open anywhere on the field,” said Johnson per NFL.com. “That’s what I’m here to do, to make plays.”

The Panthers were desperate to add a top-tier receiver to the roster in the offseason and traded Donte Jackson and a sixth round to acquire star receiver Johnson. Along with Adam Thielen and Jonathon Mingo, the Panthers will look to rebuild their wide receiving corp.
Carolina finished with an abysmal 2-15 record last year, the worst in the NFL. There were high hopes for Bryce Young and the team is doing everything in their power to ensure he has the pieces to succeed in 2024.
