The NFL has recently declared that they would not conclude their investigation before the NFL draft regarding the possible tampering done by the Atlanta Falcons earlier in the season in pursuit of former Vikings quarterback, four-time Pro-Bowl, Kirk Cousins.
The Falcons picks for the upcoming NFL Draft, including the overall eight pick, will not be impacted and the general manager of the squad, Terry Fontenot, stated during the press conference that the organization will comply with the league during the process.
According to Charles Odum of Associated Press, Fontenot mentioned, “The league has been very communicative with us and throughout the whole process. I really appreciate them. We’ve obviously cooperated and provided them all the information. Again, not really any update from our end. We’ll just continue to cooperate and control what you can control as we get ready for this draft. We’re excited moving forward.”
As per the report, the quarterback was signed by the Falcons on the opening day of the NFL’s permitted tampering period. After the teams were granted to start negotiating with free agents, the agreement with Cousins was completed rapidly, which subsequently raised concerns about potential policy violations.
