“We’re all-in with this draft” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reaffirms his commitment to go ‘all-in’ for the 2024 NFL season

Dallas Cowboys’ owner, Jerry Jones, has repeatedly affirmed his determination to propel the club to new heights in the NFL.

Recently, he declared that the Cowboys are “all-in” for the forthcoming 2024 NFL season.

In January, Jones took a bold stance – he announced that the Cowboys were pushing their chips to the center of the NFL table, preparing to give their all in the 2024 season.

He reinforced this sentiment two days before the 2024 NFL Draft and expressed his satisfaction with what the team had achieved in free agency.

“If ‘all-in’ was a motto, we’ve adopted it,” Jones declared, “We feel great about what we’ve been in free agency,” Jones said. “All-in. All-in. All-in. We’re all-in with these young guys. We’re all-in with this draft.”

This stance emerged following a disappointing defeat during the Super Wild Card Weekend against the Green Bay Packers, prompting careful reflection and a resulting shift in strategy.

However, honesty demands that budgetary constraints be acknowledged. With approximately $6.29 million available (based on Over the Cap data), the Cowboys’ foray into free agency wasn’t an easy undertaking.

The wise move would have been to settle some long-term deals in time to create a little cap room.

Jones candidly admitted that, despite the obstacles, the team is not backing down from their all-in approach.

He indicates they are working diligently, even if progress seems slow. “You could be striving every day, even if the progress is as slow as an eyebrow raise,” he metaphorically noted.

With the draft days set in Detroit, Jones exudes obvious excitement. He maintains an unflinching confidence that the individuals selected will significantly contribute to the team’s success.

“I know that I don’t know when I’ve ever been in a draft that I didn’t feel like the players we were drafting were gonna be on the field for us and making significant contribution,” he said. “I don’t know that I’ve ever felt that. But today you have to have rookies contribute or you aren’t getting the value that you need to have these. These are your lesser paid as far as other relative to veterans. The good ones are gonna get paid to have other days with more pay. But that’s got to meld in with the overall management or work. Because you got 9 or 10 players getting 70 percent of the money. So you got to have youth and you got to have those players that fill in there and how you fill it in is gonna be the difference in the future. Frankly, probably has been if you look at it across the league.”
