The Arizona Cardinals have informed teams that they do not plan to make a trade before they are on the clock during the NFL Draft. It could be costly for teams to make a deal with the Cardinals, indicating that they have a player whom they like in mind.
The New England Patriots, on the other hand, are open to listening to trade offers but are unlikely to move their pick and will likely select a quarterback.
The uncertainty surrounding the Washington Commanders’ plans with the second pick is affecting trade talks, and the Cardinals’ decision will depend on what happens with the Commanders.
There is speculation that Jayden Daniels, the Heisman winner, will be chosen by the Commanders with the second pick.
The Las Vegas Raiders may also be interested in trading up, as they have been linked to several quarterbacks, including Daniels and Michael Penix Jr.
That's from today's draft notes: https://t.co/xEBfMQSien. I do think Jayden Daniels will be a Commander. And since filing that notebook, I've gotten more confirmation that the sides have talked, and cleared the air. https://t.co/bJmpOqOIzZ

It seems the Raiders are not satisfied with their current quarterback options. Daniels, a standout quarterback from LSU, is highly regarded and is projected to go second overall to the Commanders in various mock drafts.
He has impressive statistics and is known for his athleticism and strong arm. He would be a good fit for the Commanders and their offensive system.
Despite speculation and rumors, Daniels has expressed that he is willing to play for any team that chooses him in the draft.
There is a possibility that he could be drafted by the Raiders, a team he is familiar with due to his connection with head coach Antonio Pierce. However, the Raiders do not have the second pick, which belongs to the Commanders.
Daniels’ preferred team growing up was the San Francisco 49ers, but it is unlikely they will draft a quarterback.
Ultimately, the Commanders are the current favorites to select Daniels with the second overall pick in the draft.
Fans reacted as follows:
Maye is the better NFL prospect, Harris himself likely knows it. Daniels gets the gig because Harris needs BIG money from the city for a new stadium on the RFK site, and the city wants Daniels. Politics matter. Unfortunately.

Washington drafting Daniels would be an even more disaster than taking Chase Young. Adam Peters and family must not be liking DC if that’s the pick. Frankly, I don’t blame them

Imagine having to "clear the air" with somebody who hasn't played a snap in the NFL yet and doesn't deserve anything yet. Relationships off to a great start

But cleared the air meaning they are definitely taking Daniels? Or cleared the air and both sides are just OK

“Remaining issues” aka he don’t wanna play in Washington. Free Daniels!

Why would he want to go to Washington? I think NE long-term would be a better fit.

Who reached out to who though? Don't you think that's pretty significant?

Teams trying to move up for QB and calling Washington are being told they are not moving.
Washington’s GM Adam Peters has publicly stated the Commanders feel great about staying at No. 2 and picking their QB.
