On the latest episode of “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” Simmons shared an idea of the Phoenix Suns trading Devin Booker to the New Orleans Pelicans.

He said, during the podcast,

“CJ McCollum and Trey Murphy, and throw us 2 future picks, and you can have Booker.”

In the NBA playoffs, the Suns are facing a 0-2 deficit and could end up getting swept by the upstart Timberwolves, another brutal loss against Minnesota.

Co-host Kevin O’Connor reacted in shock, saying that Phoenix would not give up Booker for so little, with Booker four years left on his contract.

Booker was on the books till 2028 leading to the discussion on the podcast, “With that many years on his contract, it’s 4 or 5 first”.

At 23, Murphy on the other hand is averaging nearly 15 points and has the potential to produce more in a Championship team.

Looking into the team, the Suns created the Big 3 of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal and if they lose Game 3 on Friday it will question Mat Ishbia. Moreover, Phoenix’s performance and the outcome of the game will possibly direct any potential trade decisions involving Devin Booker.

The Sun’s struggle in the playoffs has put them at a critical juncture, leading to speculation of trading Booker. Also raising questions about the team’s future direction and competitiveness.

Game 3 is on Friday in Phoenix, as the Suns will look to get their first playoff win in front of their home crowd for the first time.
