The NFL Draft is fast approaching and recently, the famed sports media personality Colin Cowherd shared his thoughts on the high-anticipated selection process.
Cowherd explained his side by playing a pre-recorded video in which he offers guidance to the general manager of the franchises. He shared general expectations and the trajectory the draft takes, highlighting how general managers are typically on the lookout for strategies and admitting that speed isn’t the only indicator necessary to succeed.
During one of the episodes of “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” the host further explained his take on the value of the tackles, especially the left tackles. He mentioned how they are important considering the future longevity of the success and quarterback prospects.
Cowherd shared a graphic ranking that mentioned his top-15 left tackles in the league’s history. According to Awful Announcing, Russell Baxter, an NFL writer, shared his response on Platform X, formerly Twitter. He mentioned and further continued with his remarks, “Please look at the graphic in the middle of this piece, in reference to the 15 greatest left tackles. Can someone on here tell me what’s wrong with it factually? The first photo should make you shake your head!”

That's not the point. Gene Upshaw played guard. https://t.co/GSH7VshuoM

Matthews is based on opinion and Upshaw is factually inaccurate. There is no confusion. https://t.co/KdhfoMBZDs

And I never brought up Matthews. My original criticism was all about Upshaw and then a few people on here went off in a different path. I don't care about Matthews. This was about being factually incorrect. Is end of discussion https://t.co/r2MQgCbypQ

Matthews started at all 5 positions at one time on the offensive line. https://t.co/VkZY5pOijx

I don't disagree, The point is that Upshaw was a guard, a complete swing and a miss. That alone invalidates the graphic. https://t.co/lV6uhzPzDz

However, the graphic Cowherd showed had errors in it, which were later pointed out by NFL writer Russell Baxter and in his posts, he mentioned the factual errors. Cowherd highlighted the significance of tackles and the fact that the 2024 NFL Draft has a high talent pool of tackles. His list, however, missed players who were not tackles.
