“Kobie knows we just want Kobie to be Kobie” Rams Look to Kobie Turner to Step Up in Wake of Aaron Donald’s Retirement

The Los Angeles Rams have shared that Kobie Turner the defensive tackle needs to be himself and that the player has also shared that he is not putting any pressure on himself. The Rams icon defensive tackle, Aaron Donald had recently announced his retirement and the Rams will be looking forward to spearheading the next season without him.

That was elaborated upon by the Rams, head coach Sean McVay at the pre-draft press conference. He was questioned regarding the team’s defensive line and its plans considering the 2024 NFL Draft. The head coach further stated that Donald cannot be “replaced” but they are lucky to have Turner because of his versatility which allows the team to consider a variety of potential players for the defensive line.

He mentioned as per Pro Football Talk, “I think the best part about it is Kobie knows we just want Kobie to be Kobie. And he does have some position flex across the front, whether we’re in three-down spacing or whether we’re in some of our four-down nickel, sub spacing. He can play in a bunch of different areas. That does give us some flexibility relative to the different types of players that we like if maybe they’re a little bit more specific in terms of where we envision them so that’s a real blessing for us.”

Turner will play a cardinal role in the defense however it is unknown for now what kind of defense the Rams will have for the 2024 NFL season.
