There are Mock Drafts and then there are mocking drafts and everything in between, and as we near the actual Draft later tonight, straight out of Detroit, Michigan.
There have been a host of pundits, podcasts, cable shows, columns and platforms prattling on about the order of the first-round picks, and well, we are no different.
We have researched and see many of the same thoughts echoed across the net.
For what it is worth let’s take a look the most interesting first-round picks. And no, we will not mention Caleb Williams going to the Bears – oops too late we just did.
The first pick of note – outside of the top three quarterbacks who seemingly have homes in Chicago, Washington and new England we look at the number four mock pick – wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr, who is likely to end up in Arizona. The Cardinals need him, and they will get him.
Barring any last-ditch trades, maybe the Giants and the patriots swop, then number five should be OT JC Latham off to the Chargers. He may be a surprise ahead of Joe Alt, but really there is no alternative for the chargers.
The Giants, the big but of the night, will likely go with LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers, just ahead of Rome Odunze. If they don’t trade up for Drake Maye, then this may be their only choice.
The Jets at 10 will pick up Odunze if he does not go earlier and teaming up with Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams, aligned to Aaron Rodgers, this could make a fearsome threesome for the New York team.
There is no secret; the Vikings need a new QB to fill the boots of Kirk Cousins and if he is still available, slot J.J. McCarthy at 11.
Another QB set to go early (13th) is Washington line caller Michael Penix Jr, who will go to the Raiders.
The Colts are making trade noises, or just plain horse-trading, and it will be a surprise to see them tee off at 15th but if they do, look at them snapping up Georgia TE Brock Bowers.
Tackles seem to be the favor of picks 10-20 and Byron Murphy should go to the Bengals at 18, and OT Amarius Mims to the Commanders at 19, with Washington set to trade with the LA Rams.
The Cowboys will be going for IOL Graham Barton out of Duke at 24, while the Bills at 28 would go for wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.
The champion Chiefs will pick last and will be looking at Texas WR Adonai Mitchell, fulfilling a position they need to cover.
