“You like the guys that talk s— and have fun and compete” – New Raiders QB Gardner Minshew believes all his aces with him and new Las Vegas teammate Maxx Crosby

The Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew always knew his heart was in Las Vegas, and after signing with the team he has started talking up new teammates like Maxx Crosby.

Chatting on Crosby’s podcast, Minshew said he always knew he would land up on the Strip and while he is not guaranteed a start, he will not just be making up the numbers.

He will compete for a start-spot with second year QB Aidan O’Connell, who was decent when he played in the team’s last ten games in 2023.

Minshew mad ethe pro-Bowl last season at the Colts and will be looking to cash out his chits on a two-year deal.

“It was my first option,” Minshew said last week on Maxx Crosby’s The Rush podcast. “When we were stacking it up, I think I was their first option. As soon as free agency started, we made the call and that was it. Couldn’t have been easier. I couldn’t have been more excited.”

Crosby and Minshew enjoyed an awkwardly fractious moment when the Colts last played the Raiders, but it seems like the two are as thick as a den of thieves.

Crosby, a three-time Pro Bowl pass rusher vocalized his thoughts at a mic’d-up Minshew with repeated calls of “little ass boy.”

Minshew and Crosby just need a Nash to make up a trio, and the new signing said the two smoothed things over shortly after signing.

“I knew it was coming. We on those tracks and there was a collision course coming one way or another,” Minshew told Crosby and his fellow podcast hosts. “I was looking forward to it. You like the guys that talk s— and have fun and compete. That’s how I felt. Like I’m not gonna talk back because that didn’t seem like a good idea for me at the time. But was definitely fired up to get out here and meet him. He’s been super nice. It’s been so surprising.”

“It’s been a long time coming, but I feel like Raiders have been in my path,” Minshew said.
