Clipped TV Series: Release date, how to watch, and more

The official trailer for the docudrama Clipped has been dropped, to be released in a six-part limited series by FX that will start on June 4 on Hulu with back-to-back episodes.

The trailer was released on Thursday, April 25 and stars Ed O’Neill as L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling and Laurence Fishburne as the team’s head coach, Doc Rivers.

The six-episode limited series, Clipped, will be based on ESPN’s “30 for 30” podcast The Sterling Affairs and explores former Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling’s 2014 racism scandal.

Back in 2014, V. Stiviano, leaked audio of Sterling making racist and offensive remarks that insulted not only the players on his team but also basketball fans.

The Sterling Affairs podcast mapped out the collision between a dysfunctional basketball organization and an even less functional marriage.

Clipped will star Kelly AuCoin as Sterling’s right-hand, Andy Roeser, J. Alphonse Nicholson as Chris Paul, Rich Sommers as the Clippers’ PR man, Seth Burton, Corbin Bernsen as Pierce O’Donnell, Clifton Davis as NBA great Elgin Baylor, and Harriet Sansom Harris as “Justine.”

The series is an FX Production and the executive Producers are Gina Welch, who serves as creator and showrunner. Also, Emmy-winning producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, Zanne Devine, Ramona Shelburne, and Kevin Bray, will direct three of the six episodes.

Clipped will premiere exclusively on Hulu in the US, to watch the episodes a subscription to either Hulu with Live TV, the Disney Plus Bundle, or the standalone Hulu service is required.

The synopsis of the limited series started when famed coach Doc Rivers (Laurence Fishburne) arrived as the Clippers coach in 2013.

At the same time, Sterling’s wife is engaged in a courtside competition with his assistant, V. Stiviano following, a recording of Sterling making racist remarks is leaked.
