Pittsburgh Steeler coach Mike Tomlin is taking one of the NFL’s most impressive current streaks into 2024. The 52-year-old is entering his 18th season as a head coach and has never finished with a losing season. Tomlin finished 8-8 on three occasions but his resilience over the years has to be commended.
Last season, Pittsburgh finished with a 10-7 record to make the playoffs for the 11th time under Tomlin’s reign, but a disappointing 31-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round left more questions about what lies ahead for this franchise. After an active offseason, Tomlin is looking forward to strong response in 2024 from his newly-assembled lineup.
The Steelers brought in new offensive coordinator in former Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith and added two highly-rated quarterback in Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
Per a recent article in NFL.com, Tomlin was asked about the new additions to his offense and how he sees his team responded in 2024.
“They got something to prove professionally,” said Tomlin. “But we as a collective feel the same way. We have something to prove, and I just think that is a good frame of mind to be in as individuals and as a collective as we prepare ourselves for the 2024 season. It’s not fun to relocate or get fired or things of that nature. But as competitors, it always motivates us in the right way, and I’m excited about working with the men that you mentioned.

Russell Wilson and Justin Fields both have a year remaining on their contracts and are coming off losing seasons. They will be desperate to make an impression in 2024. Arthur Smith leaves the Falcons after a underwhelming 21-30 record.
Along with Smith, Fields and Wilson, the organization added a handful of talented prospects in the NFL draft and there are plenty of reasons for Steelers fans to be optimistic about the future.
