Caitlin Clark wasn’t just drafted by the Indiana Fever. She was the star of the 2024 WNBA draft. Indiana Fever secured Clark as the number one overall pick.

Clark had her first taste of the WNBA on Sunday, April 28 during the Indiana Fever’s first training camp practice. Following the practice, Clark spoke to reporters about her experience.

Among all other things, she expressed her eagerness to get back on the court after the whirlwind of draft festivities. While the draft itself and the surrounding events were exciting, Clark mentioned that she was most excited to be done with media obligations.

‘I think that’s what I was most excited for, getting all that other stuff out of the way. The draft was amazing, New York City was amazing, Los Angeles was amazing, but I was excited to get here and get back to playing basketball, you know, doing my job,” Clark shared as reported by Daily Mail.

Clark also acknowledged the faster pace of the WNBA game compared to her college experience but expressed feeling prepared due to prior workouts. Plus, she spoke about her excitement about being reunited with college teammate Aliyah Boston and getting to know the rest of the Indiana Fever squad.

Will Caitlin Clark be selected for the 2024 Olympics in Paris?

Caitlin Clark has a chance to be selected for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, but it’s not guaranteed. Clark is one of 14 players invited to training camp for the Team USA selection process. Since she couldn’t attend the training camp, her performance with the Indiana Fever will be heavily considered. Strong early play could solidify her spot.
