“It’s like looney tunes around here.” – Source close to the Phoenix Suns describes life under owner Mat Ishbia after 4-0 sweeping loss to the Timberwolves

The dawn does not look likely to appear for the Suns for a very long time, as they dimmed to a dismal NBA playoff series showing against the Timberwolves.

They lost the series 4-0 after succumbing to a 116-124 loss, and many fans are blaming Phonex’s billionaire owner Mat Ishbia , after news filtered out that head coach Frank Vogel could be riding off into the sunset sans a horse.

A source close to the Suns (not Icarus) has spoken out about the off-court antics in Phoenix.

“It’s like looney tunes around here. It’s felt unstable since (Ishbia) arrived. He’s a good guy and everything, I think, but he’s just very involved. Too involved. I know he played (college basketball at Michigan State), but I’d venture to say he has no idea what he’s doing when it comes to basketball. Yet he’s making a lot of the big decisions.”

The CEO of United Wholesale Mortgage bought the franchise in 2022 together with his older brother Justin.

“Back in the day, the Cavs’ basketball staff would do their coaching search, and Dan would do his coaching search,” the source said. “He’s not like that now, from everything I know. He lets the basketball people handle that stuff. Ishbia doesn’t. He’s a pain in the (butt) to be honest.”

At the settingodf the sun, history will remember this ignominious defeat.
