Two-time all-Pac-12 guard and Oregon State graduate, Talia von Oelhoffen, has officially committed to the USC Trojans.
Confirmed in an exclusive ESPN report on Monday, this transfer raises USC"s anticipated profile in the 2025 national title race.
USC’s impressive roster lineup now includes Kiki Iriafen from Stanford, returning superstar JuJu Watkins, senior Rayah Marshall, and a promising crew of top-ranked freshmen.
“It"s so exciting," von Oelhoffen told ESPN. “I mean, the sky"s the limit for how good we can be… I"m super excited to take this team into the Big Ten and beyond."
All these elements give USC the structural depth needed to vie effectively for the prestigious national title.
Von Oelhoffen was instrumental in Oregon State"s triumphant season. The talented 5-foot-11 guard had an impressive stat line, averaging 10.7 points, 5. assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1. steal per game.
She was undeniably a key player leading the charge to Oregon State’s first NCAA tournament participation since 2021.
In addition to seeing a Sweet 16 victory over Notre Dame, the Beavers had an arguably spectacular season that saw them clinch the number 3 seed spot and make their third Elite Eight appearance since 2016.
Next season, Oregon State plans to transition to the WCC in women"s basketball following the Pac-12"s disintegration and already has eight players looking for opportune transfers.
Before settling on USC, von Oelhoffen considered other formidable teams, including Colorado, Kentucky, and Louisville. She took the time to visit all four institutions before settling on USC for her graduate transfer.
Last week, von Oelhoffen hinted at her forthcoming announcement with a TikTok video featuring her and Iriafen in USC uniforms – a possible sign of an amicable rivalry that might fuel the Trojans" run for the 2025 national title.
“For me, it was just the opportunities in L.A., playing for Coach Lindsay," von Oelhoffen said. “I think the pro style they play translates to the W[NBA], which is my ultimate goal.
“Just the opportunity to play point guard for potentially a national championship team under Coach Lindsay, who sends people to the W and is just so smart in so many ways and an amazing staff, amazing players, I loved everything about it."
The news broke when both von Oelhoffen and Iriafen committed to USC before concluding their campus tour.
