Aaron Ross, a former Super Bowl champion cornerback with the New York Giants, believes Odell Beckham Jr. (OBJ), a free agent wide receiver, should strongly consider returning to the Giants.

Ross pointed out OBJ’s prime years with the Giants. He argued that OBJ thrived in MetLife Stadium and his playing style meshed well with the New York environment.

“From the first day he got to the Giants, that was the part that we needed since our Super Bowl run and he was amazing out there. I think his personality matches the New York environment. So I’d love to see that,” mentioned Aaron Ross as reported by TMZ Sports.

Well, Beckham’s return to the Giants would be an exciting storyline for fans.

Odell Beckham Jr. had his most successful seasons with the New York Giants and racked up impressive stats and even won a Super Bowl. He knows the team’s system, the city, and the fans. The Giants haven’t had a true star wide receiver since Beckham’s departure. A healthy OBJ could be a huge boost to their offense.

However, Odell Beckham Jr.’s departure from the New York Giants in 2019 was a messy one, and there’s lingering bitterness on both sides.

The Giants were reportedly frustrated with Beckham’s off-field antics and his declining production due to injuries. They also had a losing record during Beckham’s tenure and may have felt he wasn’t a part of their rebuilding plans.

Beckham feels the Giants “booted” him out and never provided enough support around aging quarterback Eli Manning to win. He expressed a desire to win a championship with the Giants but felt the team didn’t prioritize building a contender.

Beckham was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019 but his stint there wasn’t as successful. In 2021, Beckham Jr. signed with the Rams and thrived. He played a key role in their Super Bowl LVI victory. After an ACL injury in the Super Bowl, Beckham Jr. spent 2022 recovering. Next, he signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023.

Well, Odell Beckham Jr. is currently a free agent. The Baltimore Ravens released him on March 13. Beckham Jr. is coming off a decent season with the Ravens, catching 35 passes for 565 yards and 3 touchdowns.
