Fifth-Year Option Lock In: Ravens Move Ahead With OL Odafe Oweh

The Baltimore Ravens have reportedly exercised the fifth-year option of prominent outside linebacker Odafe Oweh’s rookie contract. He will stay with the squad through the 2025 season and his guaranteed salary will be $13.251 million for that season.

The general manager of the Ravens, Eric DeCosta, shared, as per the Ravens, “We are happy to announce that the Ravens will be picking up Odafe Oweh’s fifth-year option. We look forward to watching him play great football for us this year.”

The 25-year-old Penn State prospect was picked up in the 2021 NFL Draft in the first round as the 31st pick. However, he spent his initial three seasons primarily as a backup, but the squad appreciated his unique combination of athleticism.

In the last season, Oweh played in 13 games and posted five sacks, 23 tackles, two forced fumbles, and 12 quarterback hits. According to the Ravens, “His pass rush success went beyond the traditional stats. Oweh’s pass rush win rate of 18.2% ranked tied for 10th among all EDGE defenders with at least 100 pass rushes, per Pro Football Focus. He was affecting the quarterback at a high level.”

Oweh suffered from an ankle injury, due to which he missed four games early in the season. His career total tackles are 99, and he has 13 sacks. He also registered one pass deflection, 6 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries.
