Austin Corbett, an offensive lineman for the Carolina Panthers, has made a big change in his career. He used to play left tackle, but now he’s the starting center for the team. His former college coach, Brian Polian, told him years ago that his size and skills might be better suited for the center position.
Corbett officially became the Panthers’ starting center on March 11. Despite facing two knee surgeries, he’s been a supportive teammate for quarterback Bryce Young.
Corbett recently talked with Reggie Roberts from Overtime Heroics. They discussed various topics, including Corbett’s favorite James Bond actor (Sean Connery), the best advice he received from fellow NFL player Joel Bitonio, his favorite meal (ribeye steak with scalloped potatoes), and his plans after his NFL career (considering physical therapy school or becoming a strength coach).
Senior Editor Reggie Roberts from Overtime Heroics interviewed Corbett about a range of topics, covering both football and non-football matters. They talked about Corbett’s favorite character in the James Bond movies, the most valuable advice he got from another NFL player, his top pick for a meal, his big plans after retiring from the NFL, the actor he admires enough to pay to see on screen, and the vacation spot he’s most eager to visit.
Overtime Heroics Senior Editor Reggie Robert: Are you a fan of the 007/James Bond action movies and if so, which actor was your favorite James Bond character?
Austin Corbett: “Yeah. I grew up watching all the James Bond (movies) with my dad, and so the main actor for me as James Bond in his movies is probably Sean Connery. That’s where my mind initially goes. Obviously, Daniel Craig and that latest installment was done well. I don’t want there to be another actor to keep that series going. I love
the series.”https://twitter.com/BigCorbs73/status/1782174325023318020
Corbett also revealed that he would pay to see actor Matthew McConaughey on the silver screen and that his dream vacation is to go on a safari in Africa with his family. Young is excited to have Corbett as his center this season. They’ve had many conversations, and Young values Corbett’s advice and support.
