“The domino effect is huge. More sponsors want to get involved” Florida Panthers President And CEO Discusses Impact Of Deep Playoff Runs For NHL Franchise

Over the last few season, the Florida Panthers have been one of the success stories in an ultra competitive National Hockey League. The franchise has done a tremendous job of putting out a competitive team year after year. Along with their exceptional results on the ice, the Panthers have built a solid fanbase through their hard work with the community.

Florida went on a memorable run to the Stanley Cup last year where they fell just short of the franchise’s first ever championship. A heartbreaking 4-1 series loss to the Las Vegas Golden nights was a tough pill to swallow but there was plenty of good that came from the deep playoff run.

Panthers’ team president and CEO Matt Caldwell recently spoke with Front Office Sports about the organization’s playoff success over the last few years and the impact it has had on the team’s revenue, the growth in the fanbase and the benefits to the community.

“It is hard to control wins and losses but when they are winning, it just catapults everything that we do,” said Caldwell.

Asked about how the playoff runs impact on their their bottom line, Caldwell shared how wins are helping grow the team’s revenue.

“A significant effect,” added Caldwell. “The Domino effect is huge. More sponsors want to get involved with your brand. We had a new naming rights partner, a new helmet partner.”

The fact that the Panthers have reached the playoff over five consecutive seasons doesn’t hurt. This is a relatively young franchise with the team founded in 1993. Caldwell also spoke about how continuous strong performances are helping build a loyal and strong following.

The Panthers are in great shape on and off the field and should be recognized for their strong business model.

The team recently overcame Florida rivals the Tampa Bay Lightening to progress to the second round of the playoffs where they will face either the Boston Bruins or Toronto Maple Leafs.
