UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou shared the heartbreaking news on Monday, revealing the passing of his 15-month-old son, Kobe, who died on Saturday.

In a poignant social media post, Ngannou expressed his deep sorrow, saying, “I was my best self next to him, and now I have no clue of who I am. Life is so unfair to hit us where it hurts the most."

The UFC community rallied around Ngannou, with notable figures such as Conor McGregor offering condolences. McGregor tweeted, “I am so sorry to hear of your loss Francis, my prayers are with you and your family at this time."

Ngannou"s coach, Eric Nicksick, also joined in, urging fans to keep Ngannou and his family in their thoughts during this difficult time. He emphasized the importance of cherishing loved ones and acknowledging the fragility of life.

Details surrounding Kobe"s passing were not disclosed to the public.

Ngannou, known for his dominance in the UFC heavyweight division, recently made a transition to boxing. Despite a highly anticipated debut against Tyson Fury and a subsequent bout against Anthony Joshua, both matches ended in defeat for Ngannou.
