The sports betting world has loudly stated its verdict. Caleb Williams, who carved his way into the limelight with performances that speak for themselves, is now the betting favorite to clinch the award for the offensive rookie of the year.

With odds of +200, courtesy of DraftKings, he sets the standard high for this year’s fresh entries.

Next up in line with shorter odds is Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. The fourth overall pick lingers with odds of +600.

Other rookie quarterbacks make their presence known too, with Jayden Daniels from Washington claiming odds of +650 and Minnesota’s J.J. McCarthy at +800.

New England’s Drake Maye and Denver’s Bo Nix emulate each other with identical betting odds. Both sit at a comfortable +160, adding to this year’s impressive assortment of rookies.

While the betting race surges ahead, Atlanta’s Michael Penix is projected to be backing up Kirk Cousins in his rookie year and possibly the years following.

Listed as an extreme long shot at +600, casual betting eyes might overlook him, but avid sports gamblers know that unpredictability is sports’ inherent charm.

In the wide receiver’s category, Malik Nabers from the Giants has his eyes on the prize with betting odds of +120. Close in pursuit are Xavier Worthy from Kansas City at +160 and Rome Odunze of Chicago at +220.

Brock Bowers from the Raiders, at +350, might seem like a long shot for the title, but long shots have a habit of surprising us. Meanwhile, Cardinals running back, Trey Benson also finds himself at the shorter end of the odds with +400.

A $100 bet on rookies like Joe Alt of the Chargers, JC Latham of the Titans, Olu Fashanu of the Jets, Taliese Fuaga of the Saints or Amarius Mims of the Bengals, all listed at +30,000, could bring in an impressive $30,000 payoff.

It’s interesting to note that no lineman has ever held aloft the award for the offensive rookie of the year. As the rookies grapple with the pressures of their new roles, history and the betting market hint at the chances of a surprising winner this year.
