Dallas Cowboys announce they have declined quarterback Trey lance’s fifth-year option, saving $22.4 million in guaranteed payouts.

As expected, the Dallas Cowboys will decline quarterback Trey Lance’s fifth year option.

The move will see the franchise save $22.4 million in guaranteed wages to Lance, after he was traded from the 49srs for a fourth round 2024 pick.

The Cowboys do not have a QB on their roster beyond this season with starter Dak Prescott set for unrestricted free agency.

With Prescott, Lance and Cooper Rush all in the final year of their contracts the long-term situation in Dallas is not in great hands, at the very least not in Lance’s hands.
