The 2024 NFL Draft is only a week behind us and fans are already debating and thrashing out who will be the first overall pick next year. Some diehard fans are already doing their player analysis and preparing their mock drafts for the 2025 season.
Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders is the sportsbooks favourite to be picked first next year but it is far to early to have a definitive answer on the subject.
According to a recent piece from popular sports media site Awful Announcing, the 22-year-old could be lowering his draft value with his social media conduct.

Shedeur Sanders, the son of Colorado coach and former NFL star Deion Sanders, is one of the elite quarterbacks int he college game and is sure to be drafted in the first round. NFL teams, however, tend to scrutinise player conduct, and if Sanders keep up his naive behaviour online, he could see himself plummet down the rankings.
The quarterback was caught up in a back and forth with former Buffaloes defensive back Xavier Smith who stated he felt coach Sanders “never even tired to get to know me” and “was destroying guys confidence.”

To that, Shedeur Sanders responded : “Bro had to be very mid at best.”
It was an immature response from a player who is looking to be a franchise quarterback in the NFL next season.
Last year, Sanders finished with 3230 passing yards and 27 touchdowns to lead Colorado to a 4-8 record.
The oddsmakers at DraftKings have Shedeur Sanders dropping from +100 to +300 over the last few days. It is a significant shift considering the quarterback has not thrown a pass over that period. For now, Sanders remains the favourite to be the first overall pick, but it will be interesting to see what the odds are in 12 months before the 2025 draft.
