Lakers star Christian Wood granted sole custody of son, restraining order against ex Yasmine Lopez

Los Angeles Lakers forward Christian Wood has been granted sole custody of his 10-month-old son, Kobe, and a three-year restraining order against his ex-partner, Yasmine Lopez.

The ruling came from a judge in the Superior Court of Los Angeles this week, following a contentious legal battle between the NBA star and Lopez.

Wood"s legal victory stems from a series of troubling incidents involving Lopez, including a reported altercation at Wood"s Los Angeles residence in February 2024. Court documents revealed that Lopez allegedly trespassed onto Wood"s property, vandalized his car, and engaged in aggressive behavior.

The NBA player, who previously secured a temporary restraining order against Lopez in March, testified in court, presenting evidence of Lopez"s alleged misconduct and the need for legal protection for himself and his son.

According to court records, Wood detailed instances of property damage and aggressive encounters with Lopez, including an incident in August 2023 where she reportedly broke into his home and destroyed items.

In light of Lopez"s non-appearance in court and failure to contest Wood"s petition, the judge granted Wood"s request for a permanent restraining order and sole custody of Kobe.

The restraining order mandates that Lopez stay at least 100 yards away from Wood until April 30, 2027.
