After the Indiana Pacers clinched a win against the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 6 with a score of 120-98, Pacers’ star Tyrese Haliburton didn’t miss the chance to throw some playful jabs at Bucks’ guard Patrick Beverley.
Haliburton responded to a video of Beverley discussing his defensive strategy against him before the series, using quotes from a post by Bucks’ star Damian Lillard back in January 2023. Lillard had previously referred to Beverley as a “con man” during his time with the Portland Trail Blazers before they became teammates. It seems like Haliburton was well aware of the history between Lillard and Beverley.

Despite Beverley’s efforts to mend his relationship with Lillard after joining the Bucks in February, their team couldn’t advance past the first round of the playoffs, especially with superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined due to a calf strain.

Haliburton played a crucial role in the Pacers’ victory, marking their first playoff series win since 2014. Despite some ups and downs in his three-point shooting, he averaged 16.0 points and 9.3 assists per game throughout the six-game series. Even though Beverley took shots at him before the series, Haliburton ultimately had the last laugh.
