Arraez, who previously won the AL batting title in 2022, was traded from the Minnesota Twins to Miami in January 2023. During his time with the Marlins, Arraez secured the NL batting title in 2023, hitting .354 in 147 games. This season, he’s been performing well, boasting a batting average of .299 with eight doubles and one triple in 33 games.
Primarily a second baseman, Arráez is versatile and can also play at first base, third base, and in the corner outfield. He’ll be joining a Padres team currently holding a 16–18 record and sitting in second place in the NL West.
