The Philadelphia Eagles will have a new-look offense when they take the field in 2024 with several new additions to the roster. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is set to return along side a top tier receivers like A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert. One familiar face, however, will be missing.
The loss of veteran center Jason Kelce is a major blow to Philadelphia’s offensive line. The charismatic figure called it quits after an illustrious 13-year career which included winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles. Kelce will not be easy to replace and the task could fall to rookie center Dylan McMahon to fill the role.
“He gave me his number,” said McMahon per NBC Sports Philadelphia when asked about meeting Kelce.” If I ever have a question or anything, I may just hit him up. If he doesn’t reply, because I know he’s got a lot of stuff going on, hopefully he will eventually. As much as I can without bugging him, for sure.”
McMahon was a standout at North Carolina State and was selected by Philadelphia with the No. 190 pick in this year’s draft. The 23-year-old knows that there is a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and is doing all he can to learn from one of the game’s best.
The Eagles have Cam Jurgens ahead of McMahon on the depth chart but will be relying on the young lineman to develop quickly as they look to return to the Super Bowl for the third time in eight years.
