The 2024 NBA Playoffs are littered with superstars like Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum and Shia Gilgeous-Alexander but Minnesota Timberwolves’ rising star Anthony Edwards has been the man that has stood out so far.
At just 22 years old, Edwards continues to exceed expectations and seems to be hitting form at the right time of the year. The dynamic guard has shown that he can lead his team and under his guidance the Wolves are yet to lose a game in the playoffs. Over their five games, Edwards has averaged 33.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
Edwards exceptional performances have many comparing the young athlete to Michael Jordan, the greatest NBA player of all time. Aside from his numbers, Edwards plays the game with the same competitive spirit and gusto as the former Chicago Bulls great.
For Edwards, however, it is a little too early to be making Jordan comparisons.
“I want it to stop. He’s the greatest of all time. I can’t be compared to him,” said Edwards to FOX Sports.

On the court, Edwards is confident, loud and brash, and has the game to back it up. On this occasion, the guard chose to take a more humble approach.
Jordan finished his career with six NBA championships and was named the league MVP on five occasions. Edwards still has a long was to go to match those numbers, but the way he has been playing, it is not out of the question that he can one day get there.
