These are high stakes; Mahomes is, after all, one of the most dynamic playmakers in the league’s history. He’s leaned into the hopes and dreams he harbored for Mahomes and shifted them onto Nix.
Payton possesses a keen eye for spotting talent. He yearned to draft Mahomes back in the 2017 NFL Draft and had his dream been fulfilled, perhaps we’d be telling an entirely different tale.
