Tom Brady Draws Line at Comedy Roast, says – “Don’t Cross That Line”

Who knew that humorous banter could leave a sour taste? In a recent roast involving Robert Kraft, Patriots’ owner, there was a moment of tension when comedian Jeff Ross tried to push the envelope a bit too far.

The former Patriot quarterback, Tom Brady, showed unmistakable disapproval over Ross’s joke associated with Kraft’s 2019 legal issues.

Kraft found himself in hot water in 2019 when he faced misdemeanour charges for soliciting prostitution in a massage parlor.

Whilst Kraft’s matter is a serious one, in the world of comedy, even the gravest situations become fodder for jokes.

During the roast, a comedic event where individuals subject themselves to jokes at their expense, Jeff Ross took a jibe at Kraft by harking back to the time Brady, then a rookie sixth-round draft pick, told Kraft.

“I’m the best decision your organization has ever made.” Ross then added with an impish grin, “Would you like a massage?”

This pun didn’t sit well with Brady. He left his seat, approached the comedian at the lectern, and asked him not to repeat the joke.

Brady’s stern expression and tone suggested he was far from jesting.

“Don’t say that shit again.”

He didn’t consider Kraft’s legal troubles an apt topic to joke about, even in a roast where darker topics like 9/11 to Aaron Hernandez’s murder trial and suicide were brought up for laughs.

After this exchange, Jeff Ross surrendered to Brady’s warning and replied, “OK, OK,” while pointing out Kraft having a good time.

It’s noteworthy that apart from this joke crossing Brady’s line, the general mood of the roast remained lighter, and everyone was seen revelly enjoying the event.
