Amazon to get a larger-than-expected part of the pie on latest NBA Broadcast deal?

The battle for the NBA broadcasting rights is proving more action filled than the conference semifinals playoffs.

In big news Puck’s John Ourand published an update showing Amazon getting a bigger slice of the pie.

Amazon are set to become a significant part of the NBA’s coverage going forward.

The news swiftly shut off any rumors of Netflix getting in on the deal.

Ourand said streaming service Amazon will host the In-Season Tournament.

There is also news Amazon will get a significant showing in the playoffs, with first and second-round matchups as well as play-in games, and will host the conference finals every other year.

Disney has increased their package payment from an annual fee of $1.5 billion to $2.6 billion.

Which means, as expected the overall winner will be ESPN, owned by Disney, with ESPN expected to remain the league’s biggest broadcast partner.

They will ostensibly host the NBA Finals and one conference finals every season.

And on top of that juicy slice of action they will also get a weekly Wednesday night showcase during the regular season.

As the NBA season reaches its zenith the matter of broadcasting has seemingly ended in game four.
