The two-time WNBA champion and two-time All-Star point guard of the Las Vegas Aces, Kelsey Plum, has recently shared positive thoughts regarding the rookie, former Iowa guard, Kate Martin.
Martin was selected in the 2024 WNBA Draft in the second round as the 18th overall pick by the two-time back-to-back champions, the Las Vegas Aces. The rookie guard has wonderfully cemented her impression on head coach Becky Hammon as well.

Plum mentioned during her interview, as per SI, “Kate Martin is awesome. Kate Martin picks up things so quickly, she’s an amazing sponge. I think Becky nicknamed her Kate ‘Money’ Martin. I think that’s gonna stick.”
The All-Star Game MVP of 2022, continued, “And when I say ‘money,’ it’s not just about scoring and stuff, she’s just in the right place at the right time. She just makes people better. And that’s what Becky values, that’s what our coaching staff values and that’s why she’s gonna be a great asset to our team.”
The versatile player from Iowa won the Iowa Big Ten Sportsmanship Award from 2021 to 2023. She also helped the Hawkeyes win three Big Ten Tournament Titles and appeared in two NCAA national championship games as well.
