The Chicago Bears’ wide receiver, DJ Moore, was planning to race against newly-arrived Keenan Allen for 1,000 receiving yards since their March trade. However, the landscape seems to be changing with every passing moment.

In a surprising turn of events, Rome Odunze entered the race with the ninth overall pick. Now, it has evolved into a three-way battle, adding another layer of riveting competition this season.

The inclusion of Rome Odunze in the wide receiver corps increases the options for this year’s first overall pick. Combine that with the presence of tight ends Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett as well as running back D’Andre Swift, and an explosive season lies ahead.

This weekend’s rookie minicamp will hopefully see the Bears making progress in fitting all the new pieces together, preparing for the upcoming season.

Expectations run high as Odunze has voiced his anticipation for what could transpire this fall. He imagines the potential he and the team could reach on the field.

Definitely, definitely,” Odunze said, via ESPN. “Especially with Caleb throwing the ball, there’s so many different avenues of the offense that we can explore, especially with the wide receiver core with such versatile receivers. There is no limit to what we can do. I’m super excited to get into the playbook and unlock the master plan that they’re gonna have for us.”

Like all rookies, Odunze may face growing pains while adapting to the NFL. However, his entry into the Bears seems to be off to a great start.

The Bears’ situation looks exceptionally optimistic, courtesy of the multiple talented players around Williams and Odunze, leading to an intriguing season ahead.
